Biography

MS. AGATHA LYDIA NATANIA is a young peacebuilder from Indonesia who is passionate about conducting intercultural and interfaith programs. Currently, she holds a position as the Vice President of Internal Affairs of the ASEAN Youth Organization (AYO), the largest youth-led organization in Southeast Asia that aims to promote youth development, provide capacity-building projects, and empower the youth to create positive change in their communities. She led collaborative projects with youth-led organizations in the region to promote inclusive youth development, particularly related to education, social entrepreneurship, technology, peace and tolerance, and environmental issues.

 

Agatha is also active in advocating for youth inclusion in decision-making processes, digital literacy, and youth’s meaningful participation in peacebuilding efforts. She promotes approaches and conducts capacity-building programs that emphasize dialogue and use creative tools and digital platforms to advance youth development in the region. She is involved as the Program Manager of the Youth and Technology Project “Utilising Technology as an Instrument of Peace”, a regional project spearheaded by Indonesia with the ASEAN Institute for Peace and Reconciliation (ASEAN-IPR). She also received a national award as the National Language Ambassador of Indonesia in 2018. In November 2019, Agatha was appointed as a member of the International Youth Advisory Body (IYAB) established by the Dicastery for Laity, Family, and Life, Vatican.
