Biography

MR. GEORG CHMIEL has 30 years of experience in rapid growing, disruptive online businesses. He has built significant expertise on a global scale in strategy, innovative technologies and corporate finance leading more than 30 acquisitions and been taken over 5 times. He was instrumental in creating already 3 unicorns during his career and is known to significantly grown shareholder value for all companies he was involved in.

Georg is the Co-Founder and Chairman of Juwai-IQI Holdings, the largest proptech group in South East Asia with more than 25,000 sales agents. He is also Chairman of brioHR.com, one of South East Asia’s fastest growing HR platform. He is nonexecutive Director of publicly listed Centrepoint Alliance (ASX:CAF), the Prop Tech Group (ASX:PTG) and BUTN (ASX:BTN) as well is on the Advisory Board of National Property Data and Founder-Chairman of chmiel.my.

Georg was previously Executive Chairman of iCarAsia (carlist.my and others), the number 1 online automotive marketplace for SE Asia until its acquisition by carsome. He was also Managing Director / CEO of the iProperty Group (ASX:IPP) until its sale to REA Group in the biggest online takeover in SE Asia at that point in time, non-executive Director of Mitula Group (ASX:MUA) until its sale to Lifull (Japan) and Managing Director / CEO of LJ Hooker Group with 700 real estate offices across ten countries. Georg also held the position of CFO at REA Group (ASX:REA) which is now Australia’s most valuable media and advertising company. Georg also worked for KPMG, Deutsche Bank and McKinsey & Company.

Georg is the recipient of the 2021 Impact Lifetime Achievement Award for Property Excellence, the 2020 C-Suite Leadership Excellence Award, the 2016 Asia Pacific Entrepreneurship Award and the 2015 Top Outstanding Leaders Asia Award. He is a regular lecturer for disruptive technologies, AI and big data and entrepreneurship at the University of St. Gallen (USG), Singapore Management University (SMU), Technische Universität München (TUM) and many conferences.

Georg is CPA, Member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) and the Institute of Corporate Directors Malaysia (ICDM), Member of the Malaysia Australia Business Council (MABC). Georg holds an MBA(INSEAD) and a Computer Science degree (Technische Universität München, Germany).
