Biography

MR. EETU KUNEINEN is a Banking and Digital Finance C-level executive and founder, who is currently building an international banking and Fintech arm for Dubai-based DGC Global Gold DMCC, which issues Shariah Compliant 1-to-1 gold-backed digital token. He is also an expert in Financial ecosystems and Fintech regulations (Finecosys, ABAC) and payments in emerging digital economy landscape (FreeFlow Finance).
Previously Eetu was involved in building two banks – the latest under Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) in Kazakhstan (Eurasia Continental Finance), where he was the President and built it from zero to acquisition. Prior to that he was a Director of Technology Strategy (BOA Financial Group, parent company of Bank of Asia) enrolling new banking technology (regulator approved remote KYC & onboarding and AI-based AML system) for Bank of Asia (BVI), which he joined as a member of the founding steering committee based in Hong Kong back in 2015.

Prior to that Eetu worked in various roles in tech companies, e-commerce and media space (Nokia, Agoda, 3dprintingindustry.com, fintechs.fi)

Eetu is also a Member of United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia Pacific (ESCAP) Sustainable Business Network (ESBN) and its Task Force on Digital Economy, and a Member of World Digital Chamber (WDC) International Advisory Council. He also chairs the International Affairs Committee at Thai Fintech Association (TFA).

Eetu holds an MBA from Bangkok University (Thailand) and a BBA from Haaga Helia University of Applied Sciences (Finland). His research paper on digital marketing was published in Academic and Business Research Institute’s Journal of Management and Marketing Research.
