DR. KAVITHA MUTHY

Biography

DR. KAVITHA MUTHY holds a Ph.D. in Management graduated from University of Greenwich and Master’s in Business Administration majoring in International Business from UEL (University of East London). She is the first Woman in Malaysia who achieved Master of Business Continuity Professional (MBCP) and has been awarded as Best Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) in Malaysia. She is also the CyberSAFE Ambassador of Cyber Security Malaysia (national cyber security specialist agency under the purview of the Ministry of Digital and Communication) and earned the CyberSAFE Professionalof the Year Award in year 2016. Subsequently, in year 2019 she received an International Excellence Award as Best Cybersecurity Personality given by the A.P.J Abdul Kalam International Foundation India for her contribution to raise Cybersecurity awareness regionally. In year 2020, Dr Kavitha had another breakthrough by achieving the Top Ten Women in Security in Malaysia. This award is in collaboration with Malaysian Women in Security (MYWiS), ISACA Malaysia Chapter, ASIS International Malaysia Chapter, WISECRA (Women in Security & Resilience Alliance) and MySecurity Media. Recently, Dr Kavitha Muthy was honored as the 2021 Modern Governance 100 in the Cyber Risk Leader category for her contribution as the world’s top Governance practitioner and recipient of the Outstanding Women CEO Leadership Excellence Award 2022 by KSI Strategic Institute for Asia Pacific. Once again, Dr Kavitha Muthy has been given an appreciable recognition on her remarkable achievement as Leadership in Cyber Security Compliance in Digital Technology recently in “Top50” Professional and Career Women Awards 2023, by Women in Management (WIM), Sri Lanka.

She is currently the Chief Strategy Officer of Intellize Tech Services, a professional consulting company that focuses on technology, cyber security, business continuity and human capital development. She focuses on providing consulting and advisory services to both public and private sectors in various industries on Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery Management and Information Security. This has brought her vast experience and knowledge in Governance and Compliance such as BCI GPG 2018, MAMPU BCP Guideline, Guideline on Business Continuity Management for Participants of PayNet, Guideline on Business Continuity Management by Bank Negara, Risk Management in Technology by Bank Negara, Operational Planning Guidelines and Covid-19 Partners Platform to Support Country Preparedness and Response, ISO 22301, ISO 27031, and ISO 27001.

Dr. Kavitha has proven herself as a capable leader in business continuity planning with outstanding awards from a leading institution, Disaster Recovery Institute International, US for two consecutive years, 2013 & 2014 recognizing her contribution to organizations and nation in the field of Business Continuity Management. Besides that, her talents and contribution towards Cyber Safety for nation has further been acknowledged by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation and awarded her the recognition as CyberSAFE Professional of the Year. Meanwhile, she comes with dynamics of experience in business continuity and crisis management and its corporeal, emotional and cognitive elements in the situation of crisis consulting provision.

Dr. Kavitha began her career in mid-90’s, and has since been actively involved in consultation and advisory services in professional education, cyber security, business continuity planning and disaster recovery planning to both private and public sector corporations.

She has contributed many articles to corporation to raise public awareness in Information Security and Business Continuity and they were published in:

All of the above have equipped her with substantial knowledge and in-depth expertise to excel in the industry with her natural leadership qualities and inherent ability to provide consultation services to customer by meeting their needs and have made her projects a recurring success.

Dr. Kavitha has successfully executed several BCP simulation test by achieving the desired objective such as evaluation on the effectiveness and capabilities of the Business Continuity Plan relatively to specified measurement criteria and received commendable acknowledgement from the Crisis.
Management Team. She had also typically involved in handling real crises with a focused approach to save company’s reputation and standing in the industry while ensuring reduced the aftereffects of crisis.

A firm believer that continuous learning is the key to a more well-rounded and successful life, she prioritizes the creation of time in her busy lives each day to educate herself on new concepts and ideas. That leads her to many opportunities to moderate and present papers in several related seminars and conferences. She is one the most sourced after public speakers who have presented several papers in both national and international conferences, summit and forums.
